The Academy said on Thursday that the Oscars have been postponed for the second year in a row and that eligibility rules allowing films to leave theatres will be relaxed. The 79th Academy Awards will now take place on March 24, 2022, exactly one month after the original plan, and are set to return to their traditional venue at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater.
